Watch out for cheap ice cream!

I love ice cream. Who doesn’t? I love it so much that I eat it every day after dinner. I used to eat any kind of ice cream especially cheap ones because they are just reasonable for a person who eats ice cream every day. But now I try not to eat store-bought ones and instead, I make some myself. It’s the same reason for coffee cream and whipping cream that I talked about, “partially hydrogenated oils” which contain trans fats. Of course there are some high quality ice cream without any partially hydrogenated oils or artificial additives, however, I realized that most of the cheap ice cream that I used to eat are with these harmful ingredients.

What coffee creamer really is

Did you know that coffee creamer is not really cream? I usually drink coffee with milk and honey but today I thought I would make instant coffee just for a change. I bought instant coffee mix called “French Vanilla Cappuccino drink mix” before so I poured hot water into the powder, then I realized that this drink mix has a long list of ingredients and I started to read it. Many of the ingredients do not seem natural and the worse thing is that creamer made from partially hydrogenated vegetable oil is the second ingredients, which means this product has high percentages of it.

Which cooking oil we should use to cook

Did you know that some cooking oils are better for eating raw whereas some are better for cooking over heat? The main difference is the”smoke point”, that refers to the temperature at which cooking fat or oil starts to break down and the substance burns and produces smoke. This smoking oil not only gives unpleasant bitter taste and smell, but also creates cancer-causing compounds that are harmful to our body. Some cooking oils have higher smoke point which makes a better choice for cooking over heat and some have lower smoke point, which are best for salad dressing.
